Thought's

I have just had a thought, as we are (in the U.K). starting to live longer we will become a burden on society, as with age comes a debilitating process, how do we then accommodate in society, a strain is put onto the economy the health service and also the family.
In the new scientist magazine their was debate on would we have to intervene with natural selection and begin choosing who lives and who dies?

Will there be a point when we start to put down humans as we do with animals, can we self euthanize?

Those of us who try to fight death, are we just causing problems for the future, will people be working into later life, not allowing for younger generations to have jobs?

Are we supposed to die at a respectful age for the sake of humanity?

What are the benefits to those who live longer?

Will we just look at them as burdens? or relics that should be cherished for there knowledge?
